With more than seven-thousand storm sewer catch basins in Janesville, city workers could use a little help keeping them clear of snow. City Operations Superintendent Kamron Nash says the concern is water can back up into the street. Nash says it can take a while for the large piles of snow to melt over the catch basins. She says as the water starts to accumulate around them and then freezes overnight, it can create a slippery hazard for motorists. The situation could become critical early next week as rain is in the forecast.
