UW-Whitewater Cyber Security Center for Small Business Director Brian Dennis says the issue is only getting worse. Dennis says 60 % of all business attacked fail within six-months. The average cyber attack on a small business costs about $134 thousand. He says ransom ware attacks are even hitting city governments. UW-Whitewater will be using $2 million U.S. Department of Labor Grant to develop an apprenticeship system to help begin to fill some of the almost five-thousand open cyber security jobs in Wisconsin.
