Developer moving forward with plans for Janesville subdivision behind Walmart

Another low-density housing development could be coming to Janesville’s north side.
Next Generation Construction is seeking plan commission approval for a subdivision behind Walmart and Sams Club.
Janesville Planning Director Duane Cherek said the low-density housing development called Briar Crest Meadows would create 28 lots, with 19 single family homes and nine duplexes.
Because the proposal includes two-family residences, the developer submitted a conditional use permit, which will have a public hearing Monday night at 6:00 p.m.
Last week, the city council approved the final plats for a separate low-density housing project off of North Harmony Town Hall Road called Terneus Estates, which will build more than 40 new homes on the city’s northeast side.
