Local school district reacts to threat of dangerous virus

The Janesville School District is reassuring parents the coronavirus threat is being taken seriously. Officials say the situation is being closely monitored with guidance from the Rock County Health Department and U-S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Among current procedures daily cleaning practices include sanitizing all classrooms, cafeterias, and bathrooms. “Stop the Spread of Germs” posters with prevention instructions have also been put up in all buildings. Students and staff are being encouraged to regularly wash hands with soap and hot water, cover coughs and sneezes, and stay home with any kind of fever. Officials also remarked on the large number of calls this week from concerned parents.
