A local college will have a musical group of students performing at one of the most famous entertainment venues in the world. The UW-Whitewater Symphonic Wind Ensemble is set to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York. The 53 students making up the ensemble will perform next Tuesday night during the 2020 New York Wind Band Festival. Professor of Music and Ensemble Director Glenn Hayes says he couldn’t be happier and heralds what the students have achieved. Campus officials say UW-Whitewater’s Symphonic Wind Ensemble is one of the most accomplished collegiate banks in the country. In addition to Carnegie Hall, the group has also been invited to play at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, England.
