The change over to Daylight Saving Time this weekend is a perfect opportunity to “Spring Ahead to Safety” according to the Rock County Sheriff’s Office. Emergency Management Bureau Director Sergeant Sheena Kohler suggests reviewing a few critical preparedness measures before setting your clock one-hour ahead Saturday night. Kohler urges residents to check smoke and carbon monoxide detectors for fresh batteries and proper installation on each level. She recommends having a emergency Go Bag ready with basic supplies including three-days worth of food, water, medications, and other items like a battery powered radio, flashlights, and first aid kit. Another handy device is an Emergency NOAA Weather Radio. More tips for emergency preparedness can be found online at ready-dot-gov-slash-wisconsin.
