A 76-year-old town of Beloit man is dead after being struck by a vehicle in a parking lot in the 1100 block of Madison Road in Beloit.
Beloit police and fire department units were dispatched to the parking lot of a bar just before 6:30 Thursday night following a report of a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle.
Beloit police say just prior to the crash, the victim fell and was on the ground, and seconds later the vehicle driven by 35-year-old Kelli Y. Craney pulled into the parking lot and struck him.
Craney was arrested on suspicion of operating while intoxicated, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
An autopsy is expected to take place on Friday to determine the cause of death.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
