Nearly a year after the fatal shooting in Beloit, the suspects in the death of 21-year-old Treron White are being prosecuted in Rock County.
27-year-old Anthony Sims III made his initial appearance Monday in Rock County Court, where a court commissioner set a $100,000 cash bond.
Last month, a $50,000 was set for Sims’ co-defendent, Gregory Carter. Both are charged with first-degree recklessly endangering safety with use of a dangerous weapon.
Assistant Attorney General Annie Jay said Sims instigated the fight among children that led to White’s death in March of 2019.
Police issued arrest warrants for the two men in February after a lengthy investigation.
Sims is scheduled to return to court for a preliminary hearing on March 17.
