Criminal complaint adds details on Janesville homicide of 15-month-old girl

A criminal complaint filed against a Janesville man still doesn’t reveal exactly how a 15-month-old girl was killed in her home.
30-year-old Steven M. Horan was formally charged with first-degree reckless homicide, and a court commissioner increased his cash bond to $50,000
Police say Horan was caring for the child while her mother was away from home the night of March 6.
The criminal complaint says first responders found the baby with significant scrapes and bruises on her head and upper body, and her crib was broken on one end with blood stains.
Horan is the boyfriend of the young girl’s mother, who said he had been drinking that night.
The autopsy found the likely cause of death to be non-accidental head trauma.
