The Rock County Sheriff’s Office activates the Emergency Operations Center in response to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Emergency Management Director Sergeant Shena Kohler says the purpose of the EOC is to support the County Health Department’s response to COVID-19.

Kohler cautions residents that the activation of the EOC isn’t meant to instill fear, but to provide a central source of support and information.

Kohler says the EOC is operating on a small small compared to the last time it was activated when 200 people worked around the clock for nine days during the manhunt for burglary suspect Joseph Jakubowski.
