Voters are being encouraged to cast their spring election ballots by mail because of COVID-19. Beloit City Clerk Lori Stottler says state officials have asked her to urge voters to request an absentee ballot by mail by going on-line at my-vote-dot-w-i-dot-org. Stottler says polls will be open in the city of Beloit for those who need them on election day, but most voters should vote absentee. Among the challenges, most polling sites are in schools and churches, and many have closed. Another is finding enough poll workers willing to risk infection. The deadline to request a ballot by may is April 2nd.
