Governor Tony Evers is expanding restrictions on social gatherings to reduce the spread of COVID-19

He announced a mandate Tuesday afternoon banning public gatherings of more than 10 people in the same space.

The order from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services will include continued exceptions for transportation, childcare, grocery stores, hospitals and other essential operations.

Governor Evers also ordered all bars and restaurants in Wisconsin to close, with the exception of carry-out or delivery services.

He plans on issuing an order to make unemployment benefits more widely available to those affected by the coronavirus outbreak.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the Rock County Health Department has seen zero confirmed positive cases in our area.
