The Janesville Emergency Operations Center is working to notify area businesses of the Governor’s mandated closure.

Police Chief Dave Moore said they’re calling all bars and restaurants to work with them to comply with the emergency rules.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services is forcing all dining establishments to close except for carry-out and delivery services.

Chief Moore said his officers will be conducting random checks with businesses, and he doesn’t expect any issues with compliance.

Anyone violating the ban on public gatherings of 10 or more people could face up to 30 days in jail or a $500 fine, or both, under Wisconsin State Statute 252.25 “Violation of law relating to health.”
