A local non-profit may be locking its doors, but it’s still open for business. Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin Executive Director Mike McManus says anyone interested in visiting or adopting a pet will now need to make an appointment. McManus suggests people looke at the web site to view available pets. He adds all the surfaces in the Humane Society are routinely being sanitized, and even though animals aren’t known to be carriers of the coronavirus, they’re being scrubbed down as well between visits. The Humane Society plans to continue picking up strays and accepting surrenders, as well as continue the spay and neutering program.
