Illinois residents expected to shelter in place

Illinois is taking the next step in the goal to flatten the coronavirus curve. Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker is ordering residents to “shelter-in-place” beginning at 5:00 p.m. Saturday. The order is initially expected to last until April 7th. The order essentially commands residents to stay in their homes in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19. Pritzker says all “essential business” will remain open, which means residents can still go to the grocery stores, put gas in their cars, take walks outside and make pharmacy runs. Pritzker also announced that schools in Illinois will be suspended through April 8th. Originally, schools were suspended through the end of March.
