More Wisconsin businesses told to close

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers has ordered hair salons, day spas, nail salons, barber shops, tattoo parlors, body art establishments and tanning facilities to close. Evers’ updated order also allows bars to have carryout sales of alcohol and food, if allowed by local ordinances and state law. This will help ensure that thousands of establishments can stay in business during the state and national health emergency. In addition, laundromats may remain open; and banks, credit unions and other financial institutions may remain open if they practice social distancing. Evers added during a press conference held Friday afternoon that he thinks Wisconsin’s response to the virus right now is adequate, and he does not anticipate issuing a shelter in place order at this time.
