Adapting to online learning during the coronavirus outbreak starts with School District of Janesville staff returning to the school buildings.
On Monday morning, superintendent Steve Pophal told WCLO teachers will report back to their regular classrooms on March 31 but hold virtual staff meetings to comply with state mandates and social distancing.
The district’s custodial staff is working to disinfect every room before staff return, and food service employees have been working over spring break to provide grab-and-go meals for children.
Pophal said they have a lot of work to do to scale up online learning for students, anticipating kids won’t be in schools for the foreseeable future.
The district is currently providing only optional online curriculum for students.
He said the district is doing its best to keep up with the Governor’s orders, and he anticipates more and more work will be done from home.
