Police say a crash on Highway 14 led to an officer-involved shooting Thursday afternoon.
The Rock County Dispatch Center received a report of a traffic accident just after 2:45 p.m. in the area of Humes Road and the I-39/90 interchange.
Officers said a male suspect exited one of the vehicles involved and armed himself with a knife.
The Janesville Police Department issued a news release saying one of its officers fired at the armed subject during their attempt to take him into custody.
Both the suspect and an officer were taken to a local medical facility for treatment and both are expected to survive.
Highway 14 was closed in both directions for several hours until late Thursday night.
Pictures and videos from the scene of the crash reported significant wreckage that appeared to involve a Jayco brand camper.
