Local legislator reinforces “Safe at Home”

A local legislator is preaching patience in the face of the adverse economic impact of the current “Safe at Home” order. Assembly Representative Mark Spreitzer of Beloit says it’ll take a couple weeks to assess its current effectiveness, and there’s a reason the Governor tentatively set April 24th as an end date. The Democrat says if we end the order too soon, and cause a spike in illnesses, it’ll do even more harm to local businesses. Spreitzer says he’s please with Congressional measures to offer employees additional benefits and encourages the legislature to reconvene to waive the one week waiting period for state unemployment benefits.
