Janesville manufacturer producing and donating plastic face shields

Two local manufactures are teaming up to produce plastic face shields to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
GOEX is supplying the plastic for Prent Corporation to cut and assemble into the personal protective equipment.
Prent Vice President of Manufacturing Rachel Andres said Mercyhealth approached them with the idea last week and they were able to design the shields and start producing them in 48 hours.
This week, they’re able to build 20,000 face shields a day to help combat a nationwide PPE shortage.

Prent donated over 10,000 shields to Rock County health providers and first responders, including Mercy, SSM Heath, police and fire departments and senior homes.
Andres said they’re also following the safety protocols they put in place for their factory in China to help prevent a coronavirus outbreak among their workforce.
