All voters in the City of Beloit will be using the same polling place for the April 7 election.

The city announced it is consolidating its voting booths to city hall so they can properly staff the election.

Beloit is also offering drive-through voting at that location in an effort to reduce any potential exposure to COVID-19.

“Our election workers are dedicated to preserving our democratic process in this election,” City Clerk-Treasurer Lori Stottler said in a news release. “While our nation, our state, and our community are in uncertain times, we are providing our elections in the safest manner possible.”

Poll workers will follow the CDC’s social distancing guidelines and frequently disinfect the area on election day.

The city extended its in person absentee voting at city hall through Sunday, April 5, open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Drive-through voter registration is available during that same time frame.

As of Monday, the city issued 3,207 absentee ballots with 1,143 ballots completed and returned to the clerk.
