With hand sanitizer in short supply across the country, another Janesville company is getting into the disinfectant business to help meet the demand.
Simply Solutions chief operating officer Mark Schweiger said it wasn’t a difficult transition for his company to shift from health and beauty care products to hand santizer.
He’s experienced some of the supply chain issues other manufacturers are navigating, but he said United Ethanol in Milton donated a supply of alcohol for Simply Solutions to use in their product.
Schweiger said the donation will help keep his costs down. Their sanitizer production is just a short term response to the coronavirus outbreak, and the company isn’t doing it to make money.
The City of Janesville originally reached out to see if Simply Solutions could make the product, and now the local producer is supplying the Rock County Sheriff’s Department, local polling places and Fort Memorial Hospital in Fort Atkinson.
Schweiger is encouraging any other organizations in need of hand sanitzer to reach out to Simply Solutions for help.
