The coronavirus outbreak in Rock County isn’t just spreading among senior citizens.

The county public health department said the ages of patients testing positive for COVID-19 ranges from 25 to 85 years old, with an average age of 58.

As of Friday afternoon, the total number of cases in the county was up to 20, with exactly 10 males and 10 females. A 53-year-old male is the only Rock County patient who has died due to complications of COVID-19 on March 31.

Health officials said the county has seen a minimum of 584 negative tests, which means 3.3 percent of the coronavirus tests so far have come back positive.

The rate of positive tests has steadily increased since Rock County had its first confirmed case on March 19.

The state of Wisconsin has a total of 1,916 positive COVID-19 cases as of Friday afternoon, with 37 deaths.
