Two Beloit men are facing charges after a shots fired incident south of Janesville. The Rock County Sheriff’s office reports the men are accused of shooting across the river in the vicinity of the Happy Hallow Landing about 4:30 Tuesday afternoon. One round reportedly struck about 20 feet away from a three-year-old girl. Deputies say it appears “multiple” people were target shooting in an unsafe direction at a state DNR boat landing on West Bass Creek Road. 23-year-old Brandon M. Leonhart was arrested on charges of recklessly endangering safety and obstructing, and 26-year-old Keith R. Phillips was arrested on a charge of obstructing. Deputies confiscated a semi-automatic assault-style rifle.
