Janesville police are investigating a reported robbery at the CVS pharmacy on Milton Avenue and Blackbridge Road.
The call came in just before 8:00 p.m. Wednesday night for two alleged suspects who attempted to take the cash register drawer.
Police say they assaulted the cashier and tackled her to the ground before taking cash and other items from the store.
A witness told police the two suspects fled on foot across Blackbridge Road into the McDonald’s parking lot before driving off in a gold colored Pontiac Grand Prix.
The witness described them as black males, around 5-foot-10 to 6-feet tall, one with short hair and one with long dreadlocks.
The vehicle was last seen travelling westbound on Blackbridge Road, according to blotter on the police scanner.
Officers reviewed security camera footage at the CVS, McDonalds and Auto Spa car wash to produce pictures of the suspects.
Anyone with information about the crime is encouraged to contact Janesville police.
