Two separate, simultaneous fires give the Janesville Fire Department a busy Thursday night.
Less than an hour after a fire was reported in the Meadowview Mobile Home park on Janesville’s west side, firefighters responded to a second blaze on the south side.
Battalion Chief Ryan Murphy said the fire in the 500 block of Kentucky Drive was called in just after 5:15 p.m., and the incident on the 1500 block of Schaller Street was reported at 6:00 p.m.
The Meadowview fire left one civilian injured as flames engulfed one side of a mobile home, and a male at the Schaller Street home was transported to the hospital with a hand laceration.
Murphy said the south side fire started on the exterior of the single-family home while the male occupant was repairing some plumbing, causing an estimated $45,000 in damage.
