Janesville city residents are urged to wear a mask in public. City Manager Mark Freitag offered an open letter to the community Monday reminding members the crisis is far from over. Freitag says many want to believe COVID-19 is waning, but he remains skeptical. He says he’s confident local healthcare providers can properly treat those who are symptomatic, but as many as 25-percent of those infected show no symptoms, and may not even know they’re carriers. He says that’s why wearing a mask in public is so important to prevent the spread of the disease.
