Executives for Mercyhealth are taking 10 percent pay cuts across their entire health care system.
The state-line health care provider announced the salary reduction for employees in leadership positions due to financial losses during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A press release issued Wednesday also mentioned “some reductions in physician’s pay.”
The company said issues with Medicaid in the Illinois market have had a $30 million financial impact. It has three hospital locations in the Rockford area and one in Harvard, Illinois, in addition to its Wisconsin facilities.
The health care system said it will be taking additional cost-saving measures, including efforts toward “right-sizing” services with alternatives like telemedicine.
Last month, Mercyhealth announced furloughs for an undisclosed number of employees who were not providing direct patient care.
