A 36-year-old Rockford woman is facing charges after a car crashed into a Beloit business. Police were called to the corner of Broad and State Streets a little after 1:00 a.m. Monday. Officers say the crash damaged the side of the brick building and caused flooding to the first floor, as well bending a gas line that did not rupture. The suspect fled the scene on foot, but was later found in a doorway on West Grand Avenue. Erin R. Groves was arrested on charges including operating while intoxicated-second offense, operating while revoked, unreasonable and imprudent speed, hit and run, and possession of THC. Groves also needed to be taken to the hospital because of injuries from the crash.
