Local schools may face state budget cuts

Losses in state tax revenue may trickle down to local school districts. Milton Superintendent Richard Dahman says the legislature is already considering funding changes next year for schools. Dahman says he’s currently working on a number of different budget scenarios. One concern is an anticipated $300 per student increase could dry up. He says that alone would have a one-million dollar impact on Milton’s budet. Some relief may come through the federal CARES Act which Dahman says does include some money for district expenses related to the pandemic.
