Damage estimates approach $300 thousand from a pole barn fire west of Janesville. Battalion Chief Ryan Murphy says the first units to arrive at 4530 West Highway 11 shortly after noon Thursday found smoke coming from a 50 by 70 structure. Murphy says early roof assembly failure complicated efforts. He says the building and some of the farm equipment inside is a total loss. No injuries are reported and the cause is yet to be determined.
