Janesville police arrest the suspect in last weekend’s shooting near Lincoln Elementary School.

Police received a tip Thursday that Kenan Clemons and a second juvenile suspect were in the Fourth Ward neighborhood and an officer spotted them walking in the area.

Their K-9 unit later tracked the two suspects to a garage in the 200 block of South Academy Street, where they were taken into custody without incident.

Clemons was wanted for attempted second-degree intentional homicide for the shooting of 36-year-old Trenton Strommen of Janesville in the 1900 block of Conde Street.

Clemons and the other juvenile were accused of stealing a bicycle in the 700 block of Roosevelt Avenue prior to the shooting and then stealing Strommen’s vehicle after the shooting.

Strommen was treated for life-threatening injuries, but his family says he is in stable condition and recovering.
