Firefighter suffers minor injury while extinguishing Janesville house fire

One firefighter is recovering from a minor injury suffered during a fire at a home on Janesville’s near-west side.
Fire officials said the blaze in the 400 block of North Terrace Street was reported just before 4:00 p.m. Tuesday with smoke visible from outside of the home.
All occupants evacuated the single-family residence before firefighters arrived, but one resident was treated for smoke inhalation.
The Janesville Fire Department reported $45,000 in damage from the fire, with one of 19 firefighters on scene suffering the unspecified minor injury.
The American Red Cross is providing assistance to the residents who are displaced.
