Governor Tony Evers appoints Janesville farmer Doug Rebout to the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) Board.

Rebout said he is honored and humbled to represent farmers and agriculture on the board, which sets statewide policy and reviews the actions of the legislature.

He and his family run Roger Rebout & Sons Farms, which milks hundreds of cows and grows crops across 4,200 acres.

One year ago to the day, former secretary-designee Brad Pfaff and local legislators toured the Janesville-area farm, in the wake of market disruptions caused by international tariffs.

Rebout credits his father for instilling the desire to lead and serve his community, which led him to become president of the Wisconsin Corn Growers Association.

Governor Evers previously appointed Rebout to a statewide task force on climate change, and the local farmer said he’s had many encouraging discussions with DATCP Secretary-designee Randy Romanski.

He joins Seneca Foods Chief Operating Officer Paul Palmby as local representatives on the DATCP board.
