Janesville businesses report over $50 million in PPP loans, 11,000 jobs retained

Paycheck Protection Program data from the U.S. Small Business Association shows over $50 million was loaned to Janesville businesses as part of the pandemic relief effort.

The SBA listed 855 businesses with a Janesville address receiving PPP loans, and those businesses reported retaining over 11,000 total jobs as a result of the loans, some of which will be forgiven as part of the PPP.

18 Janesville businesses received loans of at least $1 million, with SSI Technologies and Mixed Animal Veterinary Associates North America (Badger Veterinary Hospital) receiving at least $5 million each.

Gordie Boucher, Mid-State Group and United Alloy all received loans ranging from $2-5 million.

Other Janesville businesses receiving between $1-2 million in PPP loans include:

381 Beloit businesses received more than $25 million in PPP loans, with three businesses receiving individual loans of at least $1 million: Rock Road Companies, Beloit College and United Stars Industries.

In total, Beloit businesses said they retained 3,968 jobs with this federal funding.

Big Radio, the company that owns WCLO and four other Rock County radio stations, received a PPP loan ranging between $150,000 and $350,000, according to the SBA data.
