The latest unemployment trends for Rock County may indicate more people are returning to work. The Department of Workforce Development reports the June rate of 9.7% is down more than four-points from the month before. The Janesville-Beloit area still has the second highest unemployment for metropolitan areas through the state. Milwaukee has the highest rate of 10% for June. Unemployment is still much higher than a year ago when it was 4.2% in Rock County.
