Rock River Valley Blood Center is now testing all donations for COVID-19 antibodies. Operations Director Heidi Ognibene says the test will help identify potential COVID-19 convalescent plasma donors. Ognibene says donation centers are facing challenges to keep up with demands for blood. Rock River Valley has had to cancel 40% of mobile blood drives because of the pandemic. The Rockford based facility serves Mercyhealth, Beloit Health System, and Edgerton Hospital.
