COVID-19 appears to be putting a little stress on the Janesville School District’s ARISE Virtual Academy. Janesville Education Association President Steve Groth told the school board Tuesday night the student levels in some areas are as high as 250 to one staff member. Groth says many of the 50 additional positions needed are yet to be filled. He also warned too few substitute teachers are available and administrators are being worn thin. About one-quarter of district students shifted from the traditional classroom setting to the ARISE Academy this fall.
