Evansville police are asking the public’s help in identifying a very bold shoplifting suspect. Police say a little after lunch on Friday, a male subject entered a downtown retail store and took several items off the shelf when the clerk wasn’t looking. Then he went to the cashier demanding a refund. He claimed his wife had purchased the items and he did not have a receipt. Police say he was very persistent until the clerk gave him a cash refund. Evansville police are circulating the suspect’s photo on the state crime alert network.
