A head-on traffic crash near Clinton kills a 4-year-old passenger.
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office said a 37-year-old woman from Roscoe, Illinois was driving an SUV east on Highway 67 when she overcorrected and crashed into a pickup truck in oncoming traffic just before 6:15 Thursday evening.
She and the other driver, a 25-year-old woman from Capron, Illinois, were taken to the hospital with injuries, and a 4-year-old in the SUV died as a result of the injuries sustained in the crash.
Police closed Highway 67 for roughly five hours between South Larson Road and South Highway 140 to investigate the crash.
They do not anticipate making any arrests or issuing any citations in the incident.
