The Beloit Fire Department is releasing more information about a fatal fire that occurred early Friday morning.
The Beloit Fire Department says first responders were dispatched to the upper-lower duplex on the 300 block of West Grand Avenue on the report of a fire just before 3:00 Friday morning.
Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy fire coming from the second floor of the residence.
The fire was extinguished, and after learning that someone may have been inside the building, firefighters found one victim who was not transported to the hospital.
The name of the victim is not being released.
Damage from the fire is estimated at $30,000 and the cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
