The Janesville Alcohol License Advisory Committee unanimously recommends a liquor license for the new Kwik Trip proposed at the Maurer’s Market property on Milwaukee Street. This is in stark contrast to the committee’s negative recommendation for the new Kwik Trip proposed at 1919 Humes Road. Committee members appear to support a license for the Milwaukee Street site because the location has previously had a license, and the new development should provide both economic development and satisfy neighborhood needs in what’s a growing food desert. The city council ultimately approved a license for the Humes Road site, and little stands in the way of a similar decision for the Kwik Trip on Milwaukee Street.
