Santa will be in Janesville this weekend to meet with kids and families from a distance and take their Christmas wish lists.
The Janesville Community Center is hosting Mr. and Mrs. Claus on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at its new location inside the former St. Patrick’s school on Lincoln Street.
Father Earl Sias said they will only take one family at a time and social distancing will be maintained with a clear barrier for Jolly Old Saint Nick and his wife.
They also have a couch set up for pictures with Santa from a safe distance.
Sias and volunteers from the local non-profit thoroughly decorated the center to try and create some Christmas magic for kids after a long year of the pandemic.
He’s encouraging families to call in advance to schedule a time slot.
Santa will also be part of Janesville’s reverse holiday light parade Saturday night at Traxler Park.
