Beloit police are investigating a homicide on the city’s near west side. Officials say the incident occurred a little after 6:00 a.m. Monday in the 1000 block of 10th Street. A man was shot and transported to a local hospital where he was declared dead. The Rock County Dive Team is assisting with the investigation at the Portland Avenue bridge. Authorities say there is no threat to the public.
