Beloit police are releasing more information about a homicide on city’s near west side.

Officials say the incident occurred a little before 6:30 o’clock Monday morning in the 1000 block of 10th Street.

Captain Andre Sayles said during a news conference that the 50-year-old male victim was shot to death by 34-year-old Mario T. Tucker following an argument.

Tucker was arrested just before 8:00 Monday morning.

The Rock County Dive Team and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is assisting with retrieving an item police say Tucker threw in the Rock River near the Portland Avenue bridge.

Authorities say there is no threat to the public.
