The Rock County Medical Examiner is releasing the name of the 41-year-old Janesville woman killed Tuesday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash in the town of La Prairie.
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office reported the crash at around 3:00 p.m. Tuesday on South Van Allen Road just north of East Maple Lane.
First responders arrived to find a vehicle in a ditch, fully engulfed in flames.
Investigators believe Kristin S. Butler was traveling southbound on Van Allen Road but they are not yet sure what caused her SUV to leave the roadway and collide with a tree.
The Medical Examiner says preliminary results of the autopsy indicate that Butler died from injuries sustained in the crash.
