The COVID-19 community testing site at Blackhawk Technical college will be closed (Wednesday) due to the winter storm warning. The site had already planned to be shut down on Thursday as part of their agreement with the National Guard who is assisting at the site. Together, this means there will be no testing at the BTC site until next week.
Testing will resume at 11:00 Wednesday, January 6 and resume the regular Wednesday/Thursday 11am-7pm hours at that time. Tests will be available until up to 1,300 tests are administered.
When the testing site opened in October members of the National Guard were able to test up to 900 people on Wednesday and Thursdays. They increased that capacity by 400 tests last month.
The site has had to shut down early in the past because testing supplies ran out.
