A local college has a little more money to help students weather the pandemic. UW-Whitewater is getting more than $ 4-million through the recently authorized higher Education Emergency Relief Fund under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act. University officials say the money will be used to address the additional financial burden many students are facing. The university used more than $ 4-million of funding last year from the CARES act to help close to six-thousand students.
