A Beloit bakery is making a step up into a downtown Janesville café space.
Taryn’s Tempting Treats started out of Taryn Higuchi’s home kitchen and has grown into a full-time business ready for its own dedicated storefront.
She’s moving into the main level of 1 Parker Place with a grand opening planned for May 1.
Higuchi said she was previously renting commercial kitchen space to meet the demand for her cheesecakes, but the Janesville café location will allow her to serve a wider breakfast and lunch menu too.
She’s seen her business grow during the worst of the pandemic, and she’s optimistic that positive public health trends will help her reach more customers with her expanded offerings.
Higuchi plans to have limited quantities of her baked goods available fresh each day along with wraps, salads, soups and beverages from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
