YWCA of Rock County honors women-owned businesses for Women’s History Month

The YWCA of Rock County honors a panel of local female business owners to cap off Women’s History Month.

Amanda Stefl of Timber Hill Winery, Genia Stevens from Rock County Jumpstart, Oakleigh Ryan of Whiton House and Margie Siggelkow from Adorn Boutique all shared their success stories in the Zoom discussion Monday.

Stefl noted that wineries are not often started by young women, and she tries to use her differences to her advantage.

Stevens discussed some of the nay-sayers in her career and how she tries to lift up others who follow in her path.

Ryan pointed to learning opportunities she’s had and the important people who helped her along the way.

Siggelkow is committing to only sourcing products from women-owned businesses to push back against the gender wage gap.
